セキュリティソフト使ってますか？

スマホやタブレットの普及も手伝ってクラウドサービスを使用しやすい環境になりました。ですが、同時にウィルス感染や情報漏洩などの問題も増えました。今やウィルス感染や情報漏洩は他人ごとではありません。

しかし、意外にセキュリティ対策をおろそかにしている人が多いのも事実です。

ドイツのセキュリティソフト第三者評価機関である「AV-TAST」が、一般ユーザー向けのWindowsで使用できるアンチウイルスソフトの2015年12月版スコアを公開しました。スコアは、マルウェア全般からどれくらいPCを保護できるのかを示す「Protection(保護能力)」、PCの動作速度への影響度合いを示す「Performance(パフォーマンス)」、使いやすさやPCの利便性を損なわないようにする能力を示す「Usability(使いやすさ)」の3項目で評価されており、それぞれ星0～6で評価されます。

以下のランキングはWindows 8/8.1におけるもので、Windows 10やWindows 7におけるスコアは微妙に異なりますが、選ぶ時の参考になると思います。

Microsoftは自社開発のWindows Vista/Windows 7向けアンチウイルスソフトである「Microsoft Security Essentials」について、過去に「基礎的な保護機能しか提供していない」とコメントしていました。しかし、Windows 7以降のWindows 8/10でも使える同社開発のアンチウイルスソフト「Windows Defender」は、Microsoft Security Essentialsとは異なりサードパーティー製のアンチウイルスソフトにも引けを取らない性能を有しているようです。

これまで、こういった類いのランキングでは常に低いスコアを記録してきたMicrosoft製のアンチウイルスソフトですが、最新版のWindows Defenderは全体のちょうど中間に位置する10位という評価で、特に「使いやすさ」が高く評価されています。
